Interactive Resources
Beyond the CLI and the Python package, PVGIS is also served as SaaS: a public HTTPS web API hosted by the Joint Research Centre that returns the same physical results — solar position, irradiance, photovoltaic power, etc. — as JSON or CSV. It is the recommended way to integrate PVGIS into web applications, dashboards, or scientific workflows written in any language.
The links below point to the production deployment (current major
version: v6):
-
Service overview, current API version, status, and contact details.
-
Interactive try-it-out reference. Pick an endpoint, fill in the parameters, and execute the request directly from your browser. Best for first-time exploration.
-
Three-pane, read-only reference. Better for browsing the full schema, response models and code samples without the noise of interactive widgets.
